The one and only King of the dancehall!
In 1981 werd hij ontdekt op een talentenwedstrijd. hij was toen 8 jaar. Radio-Dj Barry G linkte hem an enkele producers (oa Bunny Lee) en soundsystems en 2 jaar later was hij het 10-jarig DJ-wonder (DJ als in toaster, rapper) uit Jamaica. Maar first things first. Hij focust op zijn studies en een tiental jaren later is hij terug. De jaren 90 werden gekenmerkt door een zekere rivaliteit tussen Beenie en Bounty Killer, wat resulteerde in één van de beroemdste live soundclashes. In de jaren 90 scoort hij de ene hit na de andere. Hij werkt samen met een hele lijst andere artiesten, ook Amerikaanse Hiphop-artiesten, Jungle-producers uit UK, etc. De awards vliegen in het rond, alsook Grammy's. Tot op heden wordt hij nog altijd de koning van de dancehall genoemd.
